According to a leading US Retailer survey, it is estimated that rechargeable batteries account for only 2% of total battery sales in the US. Rechargeable batteries currently utilize outdated NiMH (nickel metal hydride) technology and are rapidly converting to Lithium-Ion technology, which is same as most cell phone batteries and affords shorter recharge cycles and many more life cycles.
